A TENDER START TO THE YEAR

Hello, hello!
Greetings, my friend! May I be so trite as to say, I hope this email finds you well? Because, I do.
It’s been a busy start to the year here in Render land, with lots of time spent in the studio, planning and plotting for the year to come. There’s so much I want to squeeze out of this year, but what I find myself most excited about are all the tattoos still waiting to be made.
Time spent getting to know my clients in the tattoo studio has been especially precious lately. This month alone, I’ve done: memorial tattoos, couples tattoos, first-time tattoos, and many that symbolize empowerment and self-reclamation. Being invited into this part of someone’s story is such a gift.
This work has me feeling extra tender and grateful. I’ve been leaning into that feeling - and into all the sweetness my work brings me. It is impossible to ignore how heavy things feel right now. These are hard times in so many ways. This work has felt like a small place to pause. A place to witness and to mark something meaningful.

I’m wishing you warmth, safety, and the comfort of community in these unpredictable times. It bears reminding that just beneath the cold, dormant ground, a flower is slowly beginning its courageous stretch toward future sunlight. May we also attempt to be so brave.
